Tad Matsunaga

English for Communication Instructor

Prior to joining ICC, Tad had 10 years of experience in teaching ESL in and around Kobe, Japan where he taught English to all ages (pre-school to seniors) and all levels.  He taught in an International school, area churches, junior and senior high schools and a trade school.  Tad earned a MA in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from Biola University. His thesis “Contrastive Rhetoric and Japanese English Students’ Expository Writing Style” which explores cultural differences in writing styles and their implications for ESL teachers is available through the ERIC Clearinghouse. Tad enjoys working at ICC because “we have the best students, from around the world, who are earnest and really want to study English.”
